Kentucky’s junior senator, Republican Rand Paul, gave a little talk in Iowa last Friday to the 12th annual meeting of the Faith and Freedom Coalition, a Christian conservative non-profit that opposes same-sex marriage. He drew big laughs from the crowd, when he mocked President Barack Obama's recent statements in support of gay marriage.

Today, Kentucky’s junior senator, Republican Rand Paul, testified at the U.S. House of Representatives’ Natural Resources Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs Subcommittee hearing regarding the Freedom from Over-Criminalization and Unjust Seizures Act of 2012—or FOCUS Act—which was introduced in the House by Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.). Earlier this year, Sen. Paul introduced the FOCUS Act in the Senate.
Jefferson Community Technical College has announced Metro Council President Jim King will receive its Distinguished Alumnus Award today, in honor of his extraordinary community contributions in Louisville. King will receive the award during the 2012 JCTC graduation ceremony at the Kentucky International Convention Center, beginning Monday evening, at 6:30pm. The majority of horses that have won the Kentucky Derby had the inside track. Upon visiting the derby's website, you can see which post positions have had the best luck.
The post positions that have succeed the most are No. 1, No. 4, No. 5, No. 8 and No. 10. After the 10th spot, the number of wins is a significant drop off.
Last year's Kentucky Derby winner came from post position No. 16, so of course it isn't impossible to win from out there, but it is much harder.
