Sen. Rand Paul doubts Obama’s views on marriage 'could get any gayer' [Opinion: The Arena]

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul
“The president recently weighed in on marriage and you know he said his views were evolving on marriage. Call me cynical, but I wasn’t sure his views on marriage could get any gayer.”

Kentucky’s junior senator, Republican Rand Paul, gave a little talk in Iowa last Friday to the 12th annual meeting of the Faith and Freedom Coalition, a Christian conservative non-profit that opposes same-sex marriage.  He drew big laughs from the crowd, when he  mocked President Barack Obama's recent statements in support of gay marriage.

Will gay marriage become an issue in the presidential election? [Opinion: The Arena]

A change of position...
“As a strong supporter of marriage equality, I am proud that President Obama has joined the millions of Americans committed to equal rights and fairness for all our citizens,” Yarmuth said. “This is a historic day for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples and their families across our country.”

President Obama told ABC News’s Robin Roberts today that his position on same-sex marriage has “evolved,” and that “same-sex couples should be able to get married.”  Moments later, Louisville’s congressman, Rep. John Yarmuth (Dem, Ky. 3rd Dist.) issued a press release in support of the president’s statement:

Louisville eclipsed by Orlando, as most obscene city in America [Opinion: The Arena]

Is Louisville starting to sag?
Sadly, in the current listing, Louisville has sunk to an almost theologically-correct level of 70; while our friends over in Lexington outrank us with a 56 score.

How the mighty have fallen!  As recently as August, 2009, Louisville was ranked as the most obscene city in America; but, today it was revealed that that honor must go to Orlando, Florida.  In the most recent listing, Louisville has dropped to a disappointing Number 70.

Sen. Rand Paul testifies against U.S. enforcement of foreign laws [Opinion: The Arena]

Sen. Rand Paul
"I could not believe we have a law on our books saying we have to obey all foreign laws. How could that possibly be an American law and how could that possibly be constitutional. Not just all past foreign laws, we've agreed to obey all future foreign laws."

Today, Kentucky’s junior senator, Republican Rand Paul, testified at the U.S. House of Representatives’ Natural Resources Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs Subcommittee hearing regarding the Freedom from Over-Criminalization and Unjust Seizures Act of 2012—or FOCUS Act—which was introduced in the House by Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.). Earlier this year, Sen. Paul introduced the FOCUS Act in the Senate.

Welcome to Louisville [Opinion: The Arena]

Welcome to Louisville!
Louisville has the prettiest girls, most beautiful flowers, best food & liquor, and fastest horses in the whole damn world (at least for this week), and we’re proud to share them with our honored guests. As grandpa used to say: “It don’t get much better than this.”

If you’ve come to Louisville for the races, or are just passing through on your way to Albuquerque for the Cinco de Mayo festivities, welcome to our little city by the Falls of the Ohio River.  We pride ourselves on our hospitality, food, and laid-back ambience.  And our weather… Did we mention our hospitality, etc.?  We want you to have a good time, and generally feel like Blanche DuBois felt in the last line of

Obama caught again lying about the Ohio River bridges [Opinion: The Arena]

Dissembler in Chief
“Calling out the Republicans at the Brent Spence bridge was bad enough, given the bipartisan support for its reconstruction. But pointing to the Sherman Minton Bridge, which already has been repaired without funding from the president’s jobs bill, is ridiculous.”

President Barack H. Obama appeared before a friendly audience of unionists yesterday at the Washington Hilton Hotel, and told so many lies that even the leftist Washington Post was forced to call him to task.  In his remarks to the Building and Construction Trades Department Conference, Obama said:

Richie Farmer is now, truly, ‘unforgettable’ [Opinion: The Arena]

Will he keep the moustache?
“The law makes no distinction between icons and the rest of us, and neither do I,” Edelen said. “The report paints a clear picture of an administration that had no qualms about treating taxpayer resources as its own. The former commissioner had state employees on state time take him hunting and shopping, mow his yard, build a basketball court in his backyard, and even chauffer his dog. He showered himself with gifts and office equipment and rewarded friends with jobs. These are just some of the documented abuses that should outrage every Kentuckian.”

As all true “blue” citizens of the commonwealth know, Richard Dwight "Richie" Farmer, Jr., former shooting guard for the Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team, was one of four seniors on the 1991 – 1992 team known as "The Unforgettables."   His No.
