66°F2:10 AM On Wednesday, May 2, at Churchhill Downs the post position draw will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. ET and be able to be veiwed NBC Sports Network.
The majority of horses that have won the Kentucky Derby had the inside track. Upon visiting the derby's website, you can see which post positions have had the best luck.
The post positions that have succeed the most are No. 1, No. 4, No. 5, No. 8 and No. 10. After the 10th spot, the number of wins is a significant drop off.
Last year's Kentucky Derby winner came from post position No. 16, so of course it isn't impossible to win from out there, but it is much harder.
Keep an eye on which positions the top horses, such as Union Rags, Creative Cause and Bodemeister, end up being placed at. Churchill Downs

Description: ” The Professional ”
” The R & B of Comedy ”
” The Gift of Timing and Delivery ”
” An Incredible Presence ”
These are some of the ways Spanky has been coined by his audiences. Starting his comedy career in late November 1997 on Open Mic Night at the Comedy House Theatre in Savannah Ga., he has been leaving audiences reeling with laughing ever since . Regarded and respected by fans and colleagues alike as a star on the rise in the industry, it’s now his turn at the next level . Spanky has toured the world sharing his unique perspective and opinions on everything from his life, politics and religion, race relations and relationships , versatility and style best describe this veteran performer providing comedic insights that transcend all barriers , age , gender , urban or mainstream crowds are no obstacle for this entertainer .
His personal account of triumphs and tragedies and unbridled opinions are for all those who really try to “keep it real ” . His experiences as a “Preacher’s Son” ( Even God knows he’s funny ) as an advertising executive , car salesman , insurance salesman , radio personality , father , step-father , being married , divorced , married and divorced …again ( you do the math ) even served time … in the army that is and his honesty about it is what makes him such an endearing character as much as his willingness to let you in so you can see that truly ” it could be worse” .
Spanky is a 12 year veteran of the comedy stage. He tours nationally on a consistent basis. He is one of the most requested return comedians in comedy clubs around the United States.
The small screen loves Spanky. He is seen regularly on B.E.T’s Comic View and Comedy Central. Spanky has been featured on The Speed Network , he is the former host of “Barbershop Critics ” on The Black Family Channel.
Spanky’s real life comedy style shines on radio. He is a former contributing writer for nationally syndicated The Tom Joyner Morning Show. Spanky toured with Bob and Tom on their national Comedy All Star Tour and he is heard often on The Bob and Tom Show. For those that like to escape terestrial radio you can listen to Spanky on XM / Sirius Satellite radio comedy channels.
Paul Strickland is an incredibly talented writer and performer. His “Stand-up Stories” about learning to think positively in an increasingly negative world have made him both a favorite of audiences all over the country, and highly respected among his peers.
Paul is passionate about his writing and performing. “I firmly believe that making people laugh at themselves and their world is a good way to help them escape while, hopefully, gaining some perspective on what they’re escaping from, and distracting them from the fact that I just took their money.”
And don't forget, as a special treat, the host for the weekend is LEO's Choice Comedian of the Year for 2 years running, Kent Carney!
Alysia Wood is one of the bright new faces to come out of the strong Seattle comedy scene.
Her CD, Princess, was released by Grammy award-winning producer, Dan Schlissel. She joins an impressive list of artists recorded by Stand Up! Records (including Lewis Black, David Cross, Patton Oswalt, Marc Maron).
The Louisiana native has settled in Los Angeles where she caught the attention of the legendary founder of the Improv chain, Budd Friedman. He bestowed the title of “America’s Next Funniest” comedian upon her at Harrah’s Improv in Las Vegas in 2010. The competition was sponsored by the DVD release of the movie, “Funny People”, and ijoke.com. In addition, Alysia was a finalist in many more competitions, including the California’s Funniest Female Competition.
She was also selected as a Hot Comedian by Campus Activities Magazine. College audiences agree, “Wood can turn almost anything into a joke.”
National Lampoon Comedy Radio on XM calls her “Hysterical!” and constantly airs her sound bites. She appears on the prestigious, nationally-syndicated show “Bob & Tom“, where her material has been complimented as “well-written… well-structured.”
She is also a contributing writer for internet columns and a frequent guest on many podcasts.
As an actress, she is currently playing “the wife” on a Laugh Spin (formerly Punchline Magazine) original series, “Back Porch Wisdom”. She also plays Brett’s Mom in the upcoming movie, “Dangerous”.
“I love it when Alysia comes back to Seattle–she brings a little edge back to the Kingdom of Polite and always manages to have something surprising and very funny to say.”
