Urban Bourbon features several interactive sections while showcasing the importance and history of bourbon in the city of Louisville.
Visitors can ‘order’ a selection off of a bar menu which will activate several short video clips. An interactive Ipad technology allows the exhibit bar to be hosted by a Virtual Bartender at all hours of the exhibit. (Menu items include: Savor the Flavor, Bourbon Babble, Bourbon basics, Modern Manhattan, Bourbon Twisted).

Derby red carpet 138 did not disappoint! I saw fashions that made me realize some of the people that attend this event have no idea where they are going. The "celebrity" line-up was a little more fun this year for me. Loved seeing Coco. I think she was wearing her version of what you wear to a polo match. I saw way too many casual looks....even jeans. Survivor shines in Kentucky Oaks Survivors Parade [Horse Racing]
Felicia O'Bryan, 49, was not upset last Friday when threatening thunderstorms delayed her participation in the Kentucky Oaks Survivors Parade presented by Kroger. Although the 138 cancer survivors had already boarded the buses that would shuttle them from the Churchill Downs grandstand to the backside of the track, O'Bryan took the delay in stride and found delight in the fact that the bus she was forced to wait out the storm in was air-conditioned.
The Art of Derby Night: From Gilded to Gay [Chic Geek]
One of the aspects I love the most about our fine city Louisville is its amazing diversity. Derby night parties were a perfect example of this fact. In one night I could attend an event at one of oldest social clubs, a hip boutique hotel, and a very historic venue hosting a gay party! All Louisvillians should be proud to live in a community that is supportive of the “real” collective world.

The forecast called for a chance of severe thunderstorms, and the press release humbly read ‘Maxim and BlackRock Stables invite an influential guest list of celebrities, athletes and taste-makers to an exclusive private bash to experience [The] Kentucky Derby…” making the storm almost sound more dangerous. The torrential downpour did eventually arrive; it closed the red carpet, sent props and riggings crashing to the ground – Mother Nature huffed-and-puffed with all her might couldn’t hold a candle to the annual Fillies & Stallions Party raging late
Derby Eve Festivities [Chic Geek]
With so many fabulous Derby eve events to attend, a fashionista has to make some tough choices. This year I decided to attend the 24th Annual Barnstable Brown Gala and the first Unbrideled Eve party. Both events were star studded and full of fashion finds and crimes. I’d have to say from a collective sum Barnstable Brown Gala had some of the best dressed guests however both events were a fabulous way to spend the night before Derby.
Taste of Derby [Chic Geek]
The third annual Taste of Derby event titled "The Perfect Derby Appetizer" was just that! Beautifully produced by Wayne Kostroski, founder of the "Taste of the NFL", it was held at the Louisville Executive Aviation Hangar at Bowman Field which was a stunning backdrop for the world-renowned chefs to prepare their innovative dishes. The featured top chefs came to Louisville from very prestigious restaurants from all over the US along with one who traveled all the way from Dubai!
A newcomer tries, but ultimately fails, to 'get' Derby madness [Louisville newbie]
“I feel silly,” I admitted, looking up at the brim of the vintage white had I’d purchased at Pink Door Boutique the day before. My thin hair and the angle of my ears don’t make them a natural fit, so as a rule I don’t do hats.
“You won’t feel silly once you’re at the track,” my boyfriend reassures me as I get into his car. “You look fine.”
