Westport Village hops on the "staycation" bus with the Summer Vacation

Westport Village announces a new summer fun event Summer Vacation Festival, Friday and Saturday, July 10th and 11th. Westport Village is located at the corner of Westport Road and Lyndon Lane.

With 20,000 expected fans and 66 scheduled acts, there'll be a lot of Dizzy Miss Lizzies at Abbey Road on the River at Belvedere Festival Park May 21-25.

"It's the coolest, most fun weekend in the city, not counting, Derby," said Roy Martin, an instructor on The Beatles at Bellarmine University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

Nope, not Christmas. At the same time when lovely things like asparagus start poking up out of the ground, keen-eyed or lucky hunters can find one of spring’s greatest delights — morel mushrooms. Also known as dryland fish, morels are a prized delicacy, and a delicious part of southeastern Kentucky heritage. I grew up digging into plates of pan-fried dryland fish when my family landed a big “mess” of them some springs.

Forecastle Festival Steps It Up With Major Headliners

The Forecastle Festival was a big deal already, but organizers have opened a new chapter of the history of the event and are bringing in some major heavyweights.

The Forecastle Festival and Nederlander Entertainment have announced the headliners for the 8th annual Forecastle Festival, July 10th – 12th at the Riverfront Belvedere in downtown Louisville, Kentucky.

Widespread Panic will perform for two of the three nights, one of only three festival appearances this summer. Performing alongside are the Black Crowes, the Black Keys, the Avett Brothers, and over sixty-five bands and DJs to be announced.
