You may have noticed a difference between what you can buy on the Kentucky side of the river (essentially sparklers and noisemakers) versus what you can buy on the Indiana side (mortars that would put a Guerrilla insurrection to shame.) There's a huge difference between what's legal in each state. This is why I recommend all fireworks loving people visit their friends in Indiana for the 4th of July.

It’s the dog days of summer—but Independence Day fireworks aren’t a rite of summer that our pets particularly look forward to. Whether you take your dog to watch the rockets or leave your pal at home, here’s how to keep your four-footed friend safe and feeling secure as the skies light up.

Welcome to Thunder Over Louisville's Thunder Road!
“Thunder Road” will have everyone in downtown reliving the excitement and fun of exploring new destinations and experiences through road trips and traveling across the globe. It is conjunction with the overall 2009 Kentucky Derby theme of “Road To Fun!”
It's been 18 years since the first Thunder lit up the sky over Louisville to open the Kentucky Derby Festival. In those years, the show has gone through changes, improvements, sponsorship issues, location changes, and all the challenges you'd expect an event of this magnitude would face.
