This family-owned bakery in the heart of Germantown has it all — fresh-baked kuchen, doughnuts, cakes, pies, breads, butter buns and cookies. Yeah, we know the whole bacon thing is over done, but seriously — don’t leave without a maple-iced, bacon-topped Long John.

Tucked alongside quaint shops and galleries, this deli offers homemade soups, bagels, muffins, espressos and lattes. Pumpernickel and spinach feta bagels are tasty, as are the unique cream cheese flavors. The smaller downtown location is ideal for a quick weekday breakfast or lunch.

This Vietnamese cafe uses Stone Cross Farms free range hormone-free meats and has a selective menu of traditional dishes like pho, shaking beef and vermicelli noodle stir-fries. Bubble tea and Vietnamese iced coffee comlement the food.

A comfortable mix of Spanish and Cuban cuisine, Mojito specializes in tapas and also serves hot Cuban sandwiches and plates of Spanish cheeses. Take the recommendation for reservations seriously or plan to wait. The food is worth it.
