New year, new coach, new chance for fans to connect to the Reds.  We haven't yet seen Groundhog Day to tell us how close spring is, but for real baseball fans it's always summertime.

The Battle of the Bluegrass basketball game is traditionally played before Christmas Day.   This year, moving the game to the 5 th of January may have   been prophetic as both Louisville and Kentucky are hoping to find new identities and new attitudes to go with the new year.
