Mike Birbiglia - my review of Saturday's show [Review]

Mike Birbiglia - my review of Saturday's show [Review}
See what I thought of my man Mike Birbiglia's show, My Girlfriend's Boyfriend.

So Saturday night was the Mike Birbiglia show, My Girlfriend's Boyfriend, at the Brown Theatre downtown.  If you read my review last week then you know that I had never seen a full show by the guy before, but was optimistic from the things I had heard about him.  Well, I wouldn't say that I was disappointed as much as maybe I had set my expectations too high.

Va Va Valentine: Most fun I've had since their last show [Dance]

The vixens have officially found their groove. Opening night of Va Va Valentine was a smashing success, tantalizing a sold out crowd with standing room only. I think this show would be the perfect ending to spending a date at a spa/salon with your mate. Make yourselves dapper and pampered before spoiling yourselves at this show.

PEACC presents the Vagina Monologues at the Playhouse February 9-11!
The University of Louisville PEACC program will present a benefit production of “The Vagina Monologues,” an award-winning play by Eve Ensler about women’s experiences, Feb. 9-11. Performances will be at 7 p.m. nightly at the Playhouse, Cardinal Boulevard between Second and Third streets. Admission is $8 ($6 in advance) for college students with an ID and $10 for faculty, staff and community members. The performance is part of V-Day, a global movement to end violence against women and girls that raises funds and awareness through benefit productions of “The Vagina Monologues” and other artistic works. Last year, UofL was one of more than 5,800 sites worldwide to host V-Day events. Each year, V-Day selects a spotlight campaign to benefit. For the second year, a portion of funds raised at each V-Day event worldwide will go to support women and girls in Haiti as the nation continues to recover from a 2010 earthquake. The money will support domestic and sexual violence shelters and services in the country. A portion of the funds raised from the UofL performances will also go to support UofL’s PEACC program. PEACC stands for Prevention, Education and Advocacy on Campus and in the Community. The program works to end violence against women. The PEACC production is in its eighth year. This year’s cast includes students, faculty, staff and community members. For more information, to purchase tickets or make a donation, call 502-852-2663 or e-mail PEACC.
