Following another win for the Wildcats at home, Head Coach John Calipari was in a jovial mood as he talked about his team, "We were really good defensively. This was a hard game".

The Cats dominated Tennessee at the start with 11 points in as many minutes.  Renaldo Woolridge led the Volunteers with a career-best five 3-pointers and tied his career-high with 17 points.  Tennessee tried to dominate the Wildcats with physical toughness, but as Marquis Teague commented "We don't want people to come at us and push us around."  The Wildcats are determined to be the aggressors in the rough South Eastern Conference.

Davis stepped up last night with a NCAA best 108 blocked shots - and season is not over just yet.  Davis also showed no fear as he took the ball down the lane for several inside shots while taking outside shooting opportunities as well.  The freshman posted 18 total points with 8 rebounds, flirting with another double-double.  At the post game press conference, Davis said, "I know I'm going to have to be tough in order for us to win games."

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist ended the night with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Terrance Jones brought 11 points, and Doron Lamb and Teague put up nine a piece for the Wildcats.  Miller came off the bench to score 4, but got in foul trouble and sat with 3 personal fouls.

A second half scuffle on the floor following Jones' hard drive to the basket and drawing a foul resulted in a technical foul for both Davi sand Trae Golden of Tennessee.  Following the short lived shouting and shoving under the basket, Davis drew an offensive foul and the fans were on their feet in Rupp.  "Coach Cal always wants us to have each other's back, we're not going to have one guy just getting pushed around," Davis said. "We got into a little scuffling, argument, but after that, we were just like, 'Let's stop talking and let our game talk.'"

The Cats finished the night looking very good in those platinum uniforms as they gear up for Saturday's match-up with South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.
