Boys and Girls Haven will hold their 2nd annual Salute to the Legends on Sunday, December 11. The event will be held at The Olmsted from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The 2011 Salute to the Legends is a fun kick-off to the basketball tournament season. Former University of Louisville, University of Kentucky and Bellarmine coaches and players, along with other sports celebrities will sign autographs and answer questions. Featured Legends at this time include Coach Denny Crum; Rick Robey; Jack Givens; Kyle Macy; Billy Reed; Paul Rogers and Tony Stallings. New this year, in celebration of our commitment to the female youths we serve, we are pleased to welcome Female Legends Patti Cooksey and Tori Murden McClure. Bellarmine coach Scott Davenport and two players from the Championship team will also be with us! In addition, the event offers a silent auction full of enticing items, a one-of-a-kind raffle drawing, cash bar and heavy hors d'oeuvres. The event perfectly combines the passion of the Legends with the mission of Boys and Girls Haven.

According to Chief Executive Officer Jeff Hadley, “Boys and Girls Haven was founded many years ago to provide a home and a future to abused, abandoned and neglected children. The need today is greater than ever, and we are excited about this year's Salute to the Legends. It gives us a great chance to offer a fun event to the community that helps us continue our mission, to give young people who are all alone the home and support they need to create a positive future for themselves. Please join us for a wonderful evening!"

Sponsorships are available at a nominal fee.  Your sponsorship includes tickets to the evening, a photo of the Legends and a Legend at your table!   Individual tickets are $75 per person.  Sponsorships and tickets are limited; please contact Donna Beasley at (502) 458-1171 ext 150 for more information.
