You’re in a lot of TV advertisements. What’s your all-time favorite commercial?
The old Coke commercials with the tag line “Coke, it’s the real thing.”

Earliest childhood memory?

Making the all-star team in baseball when I was eight.

What song’s been stuck in your head lately?
“The Long and Winding Road,” by the Beatles.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An orthodontist. That was until I was a sophomore in high school and I watched a doctor operate on a heart. The blood wasn’t for me.

The strangest place you’ve been recognized in public?
A couple years ago I was in Paris and somebody recognized me.

What Louisville band would you pay to see?
This, That and the Other.

Your drink?
Orange Crush.

Favorite possession?
My law license.

Louisville restaurant?
White Castle. That’s my “Mr. Consistent.”

Louisville athlete?
Brian Brohm. I was there when he was a junior and Trinity’s quarterback. They played Male, and Brohm displayed an incredible amount of talent.

Best book you’ve read in the past year?
The Power of Positive Thinking, by Norman Vincent Peale.

Can’t-miss TV show?
Seinfeld. Kramer is my favorite.

Your favorite courtroom scene from a movie?

When the jury delivers its verdict in The Verdict.

Leo or Velocity?
Leo keeps telling me I won the best-lawyer category in its readers’ choice issue.

If forced to get a tattoo, what would you get?
Tattoos are too permanent. But if I had to get one it’d be a wildcat. I really like the University of Kentucky.

Bardstown Road, Frankfort Avenue or Market Street?
Bardstown, because it’s close to my office and reminds me of New York.

Last live performance you saw in town?

KISS when they were here about five years ago. My wife and I felt really old. I also saw them in the 1970s when I was a kid.

Where do you take out-of-towners?
August Moon for a meal and Churchill Downs for entertainment.

What’s something nobody knows about you?
When I was about 11 or 12, I used to be a Bellarmine “junior pro.” During halftime of Kentucky Colonels games, I’d spin five basketballs at once — one on each hand, two on sticks in my shoes and one on a stick in my mouth.

If you could nickname yourself something besides the “Heavy Hitter” or the “Kentucky Hammer,” what would you choose?
“Mr. Persistent.” I’ve been persistent my whole life. After three attempts, for example, I passed the bar.

Heard any good lawyer jokes lately?
I try to stay away from lawyer jokes.
