I'm an adult, and I fully expect an Easter basket. Maybe I'll have to make it myself, but Easter just isn't Easter until I'm sitting in church with a stomachache, chocolate on my fingers, and brightly-colored foil under my fingernails. If you too want to celebrate a more adult Easter, here are some local candies I highly recommend: 

1. Steampunk-Inspired Bourbon Creme Eggs from Art Eatables

Art Eatables can't say this so I will: these are basically bourbon infused Cadbury Creme eggs. And if you don't think that's the raddest thing in the entire world, get out of my face. If someone doesn't get me these for Easter I'm going to be so angry. 

2. Sea Salt Caramel Eggs from Cellar Door Chocolates

One of these suckers is $3 and comes wrapped in a bow for the perfect little Easter present. Cellar Door hasn't ever made anything I wouldn't eat copious amounts of, and their sea salt caramels are a religious experience. 

3. Chocolate Bunnies from Muth's Candies

Muth's is worth a visit at any time, but especially at Easter, where they offer ready-made Easter baskets full of high quality chocolates. 

4. Edward the Duck from Ghyslain 

Possibly too cute to eat, this little guy is hand painted milk chocolate on a white chocolate base. This would be perfect to bring to a family Easter dinner. 

4. Cinnamon Bunnies or Chocolate Dipped Oreos from Schimpff's Confectionery 

Don't like chocolate? How about these spicy little bunnies made right across the bridge at Schimpff's Confectionery...super cinnamon-y artisan candy is a good alternative.

 

But if you do like chocolate, these springy chocolate dipped oreos are gorgeous. 

5. Sugar-Free (and otherwise) Easter Truffles from Dundee Candy

It's a sad, but some of us have had to give up sugar. To fit into a Derby dress, to control a medical condition,  because it makes us sick...being an adult is hard. But Dundee Candy has a great selection of sugar-free candy and chocolate for Easter, so you don't have to miss out!
