Actor's Choice and Wayward Actors Theatre Company will co-seduce audiences with The Graduate, which opens Thursday.
The Graduate performances will take place on Feb. 7, 8, 9, 15, and 16 at 8 p.m. each night. A matinee will occur on Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. All shows are to happen at the MeX Theater, located in the Kentucky Center for the Arts at 501 W Main Street in downtown Louisville.
Tickets are $18 for general admission. All tickets can be purchased at the box office, the Kentucky Center website, or by calling the box office at 1-800-775-7777. Keep in mind that the show includes nudity and adult situations.
The Graduate features a fresh-out-of-school young man, Benjamin Braddock, who is aimless in his career and life goals. The seemingly sultry Mrs. Robinson sees Benjaming, seduces him, and the two begin an affair. Things become even more complicated for Benjamin when he falls in love with Elaine, Mrs. Robinson's daughter.
Don't expect the play to be exactly like the famous movie starring Dustin Hoffman or the novel on which it was based. The play version includes several new scenes. Also, Simon and Garfunkel's hit song "Mrs. Robinson" will be performed at each show.
Mike Seely directed The Graduate for Actor's Choice and includes Jennifer Shank as Mrs. Robinson and Denny Grinar as Benjamin. Also included are Debbie Smith, Phil Lynch, Ron Dawson, and Magdalen Hartman.
More information on the show can be found at the Kentucky Center website.
