Alice Cooper plays Iroquois Amphitheater [Music]

Alice Cooper played to a packed crowd Tuesday night at the Iroquois Amphitheater in the South End of Louisville. This was my first time at an Alice Cooper show, so I didn't REALLY know what I was in for. My Dad gave me a good "heads up"on what to expect though. He has been a huge Alice Cooper fan for years and had been to many of his concerts in the past. The concert opens with Alice standing on top of a large staircase dressed as a spider. He started the show with the song "Black Widow". As the song played, I looked around the audience a bit. It was one of the most eclectic mixes of people I've seen at a show in years. I personally enjoyed all the folks that wore black eye makeup in honor of Alice Cooper. It was a typical hot and humid Louisville night, so most of that eye makeup just ended up running down the faces of his loyal fans.

As the concert played on, the costumes and props became more and more elaborate. During the song "Feed My Frankenstein", a 25 foot tall Frankenstein's Monster started chasing the band members around the stage. This wasn't all of the theatrics. At one point, a huge guillotine was brought onto stage to behead Alice.

The concert was jammed full of Alice Cooper's best known songs. In the middle of the show, Alice changes his outfit and wore a jacket with the words "NEW SONG" on the back. I think it was great that he was poking a little fun at the fact that he was playing a new song. I don't know about everyone else, but I always hate when artists play new stuff at a show...

All in all, this concert will now go into my top 5 concerts of all time. He put on one heck of a show. I wasn't a huge Alice Cooper fan before, but would definitely go to another one of his shows.
