One of the aspects I love the most about our fine city Louisville is its amazing diversity. Derby night parties were a perfect example of this fact. In one night I could attend an event at one of oldest social clubs, a hip boutique hotel, and a very historic venue hosting a gay party! All Louisvillians should be proud to live in a community that is supportive of the “real” collective world.
The Pendennis Club started our night off in grand fashion. The historic elegance of the club set the perfect stage for members and guests to have a great time even though they were a little camera shy! At Hotel 21C, I was met with an whimsical circus themed extravaganza in their modern art gallery space which made for an unforgettable experience. It was chic, fashionable, fantastic and proved to be my favorite event I attended! I closed Derby night at the historic Louisville Water Tower. That night the tower could be perceived as a large phallic symbol for the fabulous event “Down and Derby”. Gay, Straight, Transgender, Drag Queens, and just plain 'queens' set aside there “tierra titles” and had a blast closing Derby season along side the Ohio river.
