Cool Town Cool Shade Cool Art
La Grange, KY- Over 100 booths of juried artists and craftsmen will be displaying their works on the shaded Oldham County Courthouse lawn June 5 & 6. FREE to the public, hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. both days. This well attended show is in it’s 11th year and is the primary fundraiser for the Arts Association of Oldham County. Art of all types will be on hand from paintings, ceramics and yard art to jewelry, photography and one of a kind items. Big shade trees and the Historic Courthouse Square provide a charming backdrop for quality art. Artists are required to go through a jury process and many are declined if their work is not up to Arts on the Green standards.
Stroll the booths, try a crabcake or Italian Ice then visit the galleries, shops and restaurants in Historic La Grange. Just one mile off I-71 at exit 22, this charming town provides a great backdrop for a great show, the train still rumbles down Main Street!
A Kids’ Greeting Card contest is FREE for children 10 and under. The winner is chosen to have their drawing become a note card sold at Gallery 104. Cards with the 2008 and 2009 winners’ art helped raise money to fund free children’s art classes at Gallery 104.
