If you have a Breyer horse model collector in your family you do not want to miss this year’s BreyerFest, held at the Kentucky Horse Park, with the British theme called “BreyerFest British Invasion“ on July 20-22, 2012. Events are planned to celebrate the London Olympics featuring favorite British horse breeds such as Shires, Dales Ponies, Fell Ponies, Hackneys, Cleveland Bays, Gypsy Vanners. This year’s BreyerFest British Invasion Celebration Horse - Moonlit Acres’ Mariah’s Boon, an American Drum Horse, a breed bred to carry the Queen of England’s big kettle drums in royal processions, will recreate the pomp and pageantry of the Queen’s Household Cavalry.
Featured performers are the Knights of Valour and Shane Adams from The History Channel’s Full Metal Jousting, Sylvia Zerbini’s Grand Liberte Act, and Tommie Turvey & Odd Job Bob; Star of The Greening of Whitney Brown. The Beatles cover group Britbeat will also be performing in the Alltech Arena on Saturday evening. Other activities planned onsite are Shakespeare, dog agility, exciting live horse demonstrations, a Trade Fair and Breyer Store, pop-up Bit of British Store, a Craft and Activity Center with free crafts, face painting, contests, model horse displays and shows, meet and greet with live equine guests that inspired some of Breyer’s horse models, workshops and seminars.
BreyerFest draws more than 7000 visitors each year to Lexington for the three day festival. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the Breyer website here. A limited edition Breyer horse model is included with each ticket purchased.
Breyer Animal Creations was founded in 1950 and manufactures authentic and realistic model horses for collecting and play, with many based on real life famous horses such as Secretariat and Seabiscuit.
