Louisville
has been chosen again as a city to host part of the AVP Croc Tournament for professional beach volleyball players.   It will be held again as part of the Memorial Week/files/storyimages/activities along the waterfront at Festival Plaza and the Great Lawn in downtown Louisville.   Louisville has a long history with volleyball, both with numerous national and state titles at Assumption High School and the increasingly popular beach volleyball site, Baxter Jack’s.

This tour will garner even more attention as athletes will be vying for a chance to represent the United States at the Beijing Olympics later in the summer 2008.  Beach volleyball was one of the most popular events from the 2004 Olympics and organizers anticipate even more excitement for the event this time around.

The event will be held on May 23-26 and ticket costs range from $15 general admission to $35 courtside seats, per session with complete week/files/storyimages/ticket packages available.  There will be a qualifying round and five different sessions of volleyball for fans to catch as SFX Media & Events and Reach Event Marketing bring the tour and the players back to town.

Be sure to come out and see world champions and last year’s Louisville Open Champions Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, along with other hopefuls including Nichole Branagh & Jen Boss, Jake Gibb & Sean Rosenthal.  Just two weeks following the Louisville tour stop, May-Treanor and Walsh will be on their way to China to def/files/storyimages/their 2004 Olympic Gold Medal.  This is a chance to see arguably the best female twosome the world has ever seen!
