Bardstown Road Aglow '08

Print The Highland Commerce Guild elves are busy planning the Holiday Season with an another say Hello to the Highlands and get Happy “Open House” celebration on Saturday, December 6, 2008 Dusk 'til 10:00p.  This festival of shopping, eating, drinking and  merriment is celebrating 23 years of bringing people from all walks of life together. The AGLOW has become a highlight of the Holidays, and the Highlands thank you for spending the first Saturday of every December with them.

Boutiques, eateries, and businesses all along Bardstown Road and Baxter Avenue open their doors offering entertainment, food, drink, discounts, live entertainment and much, much more. Another holiday highlight is the Trolley--two Trolleys filled with Elves will ride up and down the corridor for an old-time family tradition offering free rides! Once again, Bardstown Road Aglow will feature musicians singing, bagpipers booming and shops a glowing. There will also be another Decorating Contest for every kind of business from car garage to eatery to Dr. office—this wonderful and exciting competition not only brightens up Bardstown and Baxter, it brings out the child in all of us… WHAS-TV anchors, Rachel Platt and Doug Proffitt and Families are on board as the Aglow Honorary Judges and will ride with style in a limo provided by Herman Meyer and Sons! Santa is back!  This year, Santa and his elves will ride up and down Baxter and Bardstown in a super cool sled--the Pool Party Express!  The Pool party Express is a 1954 Cherry Red Fire Engine that has been restored to virtually glow in the dark-pool included.
