Each year, the first Saturday in December marks a celebrated time for residents of the highlands. It’s the tradition of Bardstown Road Aglow, the event celebrating holiday spirit along the stores, restaurants and shops of Bardstown Road. This year’s Bardstown Road Aglow will be held December 4th from dusk until 10 pm.
This year marks the 25th Anniversary of this neighborhood celebration and the commerce guild is looking for entrants of poster designs to help commemorate the milestone. There is a $500 cash prize awarded to the winner, and entries must be received by the deadline of July 31, 2010.
For a $10 entry fee, artists are asked to submit their own, original design for the poster that best “captures the spirit of the Aglow.” Submissions are invited to be creative and use any format or style and include streetscapes, night life, stores or anything else that symbolizes the unique feel of this historic area of town. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit Gilda's Club of Louisville.
