Bats get their chance against the Major Leaguers

The Bats will get their chance against their major league franchise associates in the Cincinnati Reds. The Bats will have home field advantage as the Reds come to Louisville Slugger Field, March 29th. Now for many of the current Reds this will be a homecoming of sorts, returning to their final stop prior to reaching the majors.

Of course, this will be an exhibition game and will serve more than anything to provide some insight as to future Reds for some of the higher-ups in the organization as well as attempting to garner more fan support for the boys of summer from the Queen City in the Derby City. For the past couple of years, the Reds have been trying hard to get more fans here in the ‘Ville with things like the Reds Caravan and various promotions.

Speaking of various promotions, everybody who buys tickets to the game will also receive tickets for the Bats games on June 14th and August 2nd. What do these games have in common? That much beloved piece sports memorabilia known as the bobble-head will be given out for free at both. I love bobble heads, I mean that. For some reason they speak to me, don’t believe me? Look at this article I wrote a while ago. June 14th’s game features a Homer Bailey figure while the August game's bobble-head is Joey Votto, both athletes who have had stellar careers with both the Bats and Reds.

In addition to the extra tickets, fans who go to the March 29th game will also receive a free Cincinnati Reds hat.

About Dave Rose
Recently, I completed a Masters degree in Education and have been writing for Louisville.com for over a year now, prior to that I published a humor book for young adults titled Wearing Socks with Sandals, a book about getting through high school, college, and all of the requisite problems that present themselves during that time. Currently, I spend much of my time in classroom settings as well as writing in various areas. Of course, I’m a big sports fan and love music and film, and love finding new stuff around Louisville.
