What To Do

Print this page

Cats.

They exemplify natural cool while doing whatever cats do— such as stretching in sun beams,

sitting in boxes,

planning their next cat nip fix,

and dominating the internet with their undeniable sass.

Now, instead of spending wasted hours watching “Lil Bub and Friendz” alone in your pajamas while eating Pad Thai (not that I’ve done that—recently at least) , or tweeting Grumpy Cat memes while bored at work— consider doing something special for everyone’s favorite furry companions.

Be hip and donate to the hippest fluff balls around through The Kentucky Humane Society’s “Kitten Shower.”

Spring is kitten season, and The Kentucky Humane Society needs your help to care for the influx of kittens headed their way.

The shower is being held March 15 (noon - 2 p.m.) at the Main Campus, and the following items are needed greatly:

KMR (kitten milk replacer) cans & powder

Kitten bottle/nipple sets

Heating pads or heating disc & covers

Unscented baby wipes

Small blankets/bedding

Clay litter

Cans of soft pate kitten food

Small stuffed toys

Gauze pads/cotton balls

Gram scales

Small litter boxes

Feeders Supply gift cards

Join them with your donations to enjoy the shower, some refreshments and visit adoptable pets! There will be door prizes and children's activities, including coloring sheets and word searches - so bring the kids! You can also inquire about fostering kittens.

The kittens will thank you.
