For three days this weekend Locust Grove will host their annual Gardeners' Fair and Silent Auction. Visitors may shop for flora, tools, both artistic and practical garden accessories, and antiques at the booths of more than 70 exhibitors and artisans that will be displaying/selling their wares. Garden professionals will also be available to talk over any troubles that you might be having with your own garden.

The eventful weekend starts tomorrow (May 13th) and ends Sunday, Locust Grove being open each day from 10am to 5pm.

On Saturday a number of speakers are scheduled to present. At 11am author Sally Van Winkle Campbell will speak about her book, Saving Kentucky, and sign copies in the quad gardens. The book pertains to exactly what Locust Grove is all about: preservation of the history, heritage, and land of Kentucky. The book features photographs taken by Thomas Hart Shelby and may be purchased at the event for $60.

Then, at noon, Sarah Stolz--Horticulture Technician of Jefferson County Cooperative Extension--is expected to speak on "Edible Landscape Plants".

A fundraiser to support the operations of Locust Grove--The Silent Auction--will also be happening over the course of the weekend. Bidders do not have to be present at announcement of winning bids.

Then, on Sunday a yummy brunch with two seperate seatings (one at noon and one at 2pm) will be offered. The brunches are expected to sell-out, but at this time seats are still available. Call to make the required reservation.

Admission for the entire weekend (including a tour of historic Locust Grove and the properties recently restored Georgian home) is a whopping $5 for adults and $3 for children.
