Although Kweller's newest matieral dates back to 2009, he continues to quietly tour around the U.S. with fellow musician Julia Nunes. His work took off in the early 2000s, releasing his first few albums with scarce quantities as little as 1,500 known copies. Kweller's style also changed throughout his activity, jumping from indie rock to folk rock, and finally settling in the middle ground of Americana. His unique voice and songwriting has made him an influential figure in the modern folk genre. Touring compainion Julia Nunes got her musical jumpstart through performing acoustic versions of pop songs on Youtube. Since then, she's released her own brand of poppy acoustic tunes that make her a suitable fit for touring with Kweller.
