Last night the Best of Louisville Bash was held at Mellwood Art Center. Louisville Magazine was celebrating 25 years of the "Best Of Louisville" awards. It seemed like the whole town turned out to help celebrate.

Tickets were $45 and you got tons for you money. Past and present winners of the awards were there giving samples of their food and drinks. My husband and I left stuffed to our gills. My favorite? That would probably have to go to Shalimar Indian Restaurant. Every other vendor had one or two items to sample. However, Shalimar had a whole buffet with big round plates available to make sure you had room to try everything! The cultural tradition of sharing and caring through food was definitely apparent. Best surprise of the evening? Free tastings from Markers Mark and BBC. I'm pretty easy so free booze goes a long way for me.

There was a silent auction that raised money for the National MS Society. My husband I snagged one of the center pieces created by Nanz & Kraft and left a donation. All in all, a great event to discover Louisville's best while helping a worthy cause.
