New Year's Eve should be the one night of the year where you do it up right, put on a gorgeous dress, and commit to staying out all night with champagne in your hand and confetti in your hair. There are lots of fantastic parties going on around Louisville, but these are some of the biggest. See and be seen! Don't forget to start off your night with an amazing New Year's Eve dinner at some of these local restaurants.
The Galt House Hotel: Parrots in Paradise and Blackout Affair
The Galt House is offering three parties this year, but the two that sound the most exciting are the Parrots in Paradise Party in the Grand Ballroom (expansive dinner buffet, dancing with live music from the band Burning Las Vegas) and the Blackout Affair in the Archibald Cochran Room (live band and DJ). Pricing and packages vary widely, but you can purchase a party hopper pass and attend both. Sounds like a night to remember (or black out).
The Ice House: Roaring Twenties Bash with the Louisville Crashers
Party like it's 1925 at the Ice House this New Year's Eve. Roaring Twenties era costumes are encouraged but not required (but don't be lame! Get out that flapper dress!). General admission is $50 and VIP admission is $125. Featuring a performance by the Crashers, twenties-themed decorations, prohibition-era cocktails and hors d'oeuvres (with VIP ticket), this is sure to be a swinging good time.
21C New Year's Eve Party
The hottest hotel in town is throwing a big fat NYE party in the Atrium, which will be transformed into a swanky lounge complete with DJ, dance floor, and bubbly! Cover is $55 per person and includes two cocktails, plus a balloon drop and champagne toast at midnight. You can also upgrade your ticket to include a special dinner at Proof on Main, which we highly recommend.
New Year's Eve on Fourth Street Live!
New Year's Eve might be the best time of the year to visit Fourth Street Live, since it's likely to be packed with out-of-towners and locals alike looking to club-hop into the New Year. Even if Fourth Street isn't usually your dish, $20 general admission to Tengo, PBR, Kill Devil, Social and Sports Club and Marquee Bar is very reasonable.
99.7 DJX Presents New Year's Eve at O'Shea's Downtown
Come party with The Moonshine Millionaires and DJ Melly Mel at O'Shea's downtown. There will be three floors of entertainment; a champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight, favors, and giveaways. A VIP package is $65, and includes a four course meal served from 6:30 and 10 p.m., unlimited house liquors and Bud Light on tap until 10 p.m., and a reserved table for the entire evening. Standard ticket is $15.
WFPK’s New Year’s Eve Soul Revue at Headliners Music Hall
The WFPK New Year’s Eve Soul Revue will be hosted by 91.9 DJs Matt Anthony and Woodrow on the Radio. This year’s musical lineup will feature the Junk Yard Dogs as the house band with special guest vocalists Christy O’Connell, Richard “Cornbread” Powell, Bee Thomas, and Soul River Brown. The ticket price includes free memento photos provided by Pictured Events and a balloon drop at midnight!
Four top bands, a gigantic balloon drop, New Year’s decorations galore, free party favors, and a midnight champagne toast: Jim Porter’s will be hopping this NYE. New Year’s Eve bands performing include Louisville Brass & Electric, Lindsey Lane & Axis, Boogie Men Blues, and Insane Outlaws.
