Tickets will go on sale today for the Broadway Across America production of Billy Elliot: The Musical.

Billy Elliot: The Musical will run from June 26-July 1 at the Kentucky Center for the Arts, located at 501 West Main Street in  downtown Louisville.  Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday morning and will cost $22.75 and up, depending on the seat. Tickets, once available, can be purchased at the Kentucky Center website, the Kentucky Center box office, or by calling the Kentucky Center at 1-800-775-7777.  More information on the show can also be found at the Kentucky Center website.

Billy Elliot: The Musical showcases a boy who realizes his gift for ballet.  However, this discovery comes as his working-class family deals with many external issues, including a miner's strike and the passing of Billy's mom.  Billy attempts to secretly study the craft and looks to attend a well-known ballet school, a place on working-class child has ever gone.

The musical features music from Elton John and Lee Hall's book and music.  The production earned a Tony Award for best musical in 2009.  The musical is also based on the 2000 movie of the same name.
