For those awakening from their post black Friday shopping nap, the party will be at Headliners tonight with VHS or BETA. A Louisville original, the two founding members will play a showstopper tonight while on tour in support of their newest album, Diamonds and Death. Although the two founding members now live in Brooklyn, their roots are firmly planted in Louisville as guitarist/vocalist Craig Pfunder comments, “I love Louisville. We haven’t been there for a while, but we can’t wait to get there”. Craig chatted with Louisville.com as he and bassist Mark Palgy drove through Pennsylvania.
Diamonds and Death is sure to please with the mixture of disco and rock beats unique to VHS or BETA with some extra happy making sounds added to the middle. “With this record, we said, ‘Screw that! Let’s go in there and write whatever puts a smile on our face, and feels right and good,’” concludes Craig. “Diamonds and Death is the direct result of that.” Breaking Bones is feisty little tune that encompasses tech-piano notes and embraces the feelings of Pfunder and Palgy as the vocals get to the core of the listener. Pfunder and Palgy settled into Brooklyn six months apart from one another all while working to complete this new album. I Found a Reason was conceived in Louisville and made the journey to NY with the guys and came to fruition. Palgy comments about life in NY and how it helps him, “Now we’re in a place where we’re learning a lot from other people,”
Headliners Music Hall is extremely excited to have Pfunder and Palgy back in the ville as are numerous fans. Now for all the details you will need: Doors at 9pm, 18+, bring your ID, and have fun!
