I don’t know if you’ve heard, but March Madness is kind of a big deal in Kentucky. So when I found out about a way to combine my love of bourbon with our state’s signature sport I wanted to know more.
In its inaugural year, Booze Brackets nearly shut down the internet. Tens of thousands of votes came in over the course of all six rounds. While the winner turned out to be Breckenridge Bourbon, all kinds of beer, rum, tequila, and whiskey also got to compete. You can see last year’s bracket and voting totals here.
This fun project is powered by Bourbon Blog, my go-to source for everything bourbon-related. The games start on March 18, but registrations are currently being taken here. My suggestion is to register early to avoid last minute web traffic. If you have a favorite brand you’d like to see in the competition, tweet at them so they can get registered to compete.
