Looking for a fun Kentucky Derby event to do that is family friendly? We have something for you to do that helps horses in need. On Saturday, May 4, from noon until 8 pm, you can come on out to Buck Creek Valley Rescue and eat some great food, play some fun games, and the kids can take a pony ride.
Buck Creek Valley Rescue is a 501(3) non-profit that rescues horses in need, rehabilitates and retrains them as needed, then attempts to adopt them into new good homes.
There will be a cookout that includes the following menu of hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, potato salad, chips, drinks, and dessert.
Activities planned for this event are horsehoes, corn hole, volleyball, kickball, and especially for the children a horse beauty pageant, and pony rides (small additional fee for pony rides).
You will need to bring a blanket for the ground, lounge chairs, sunscreen, and a desire to help the horses and have fun.
The fees for this event are as follows: Single - $10.00, Couple - $15.00, Family - $20.00
Pony Rides are an additional fee of $5.00 and $10.00 for photos.
All proceeds benefit the horses residing at the rescue.
For more information contact the rescue at (812) 968-3000.
Buck Creek Valley Rescue is located at 4700 Shewmaker Lane, SE, Elizabeth, Indiana 47117.
