Catherine Feeny wins Abbey Road on the River's John Lennon Songwriting Contest

Catherine Feeny from Portland, Oregon has been selected as the winner of Abbey Road on the River's John Lennon Songwriting Contest and will be appearing with her band on Sunday, May 26 at 6pm on The Fountain Stage during the Abbey Road on the River Festival held on the Belvedere. The Abbey Road on the River John Lennon Songwriting Contest "Peace Promotion" is an international songwriting contest based around the theme of 'peace' open to amateur and professional songwriters from around the world. Feeny beat out 203 other contestants for this honor. Feeny's composition was judged on melody, composition, originality, and and lyrics. Along with her all-expenses paid trip to perform at Abbey Road on the River, Feeny also won custom John Lennon Educational Tour Bus cables from Neutrik, a JamHub BedRoom, and an Avid MBox. Anna Blanton holds a Bachelors of Arts in Music (violin) and a Minor in Marketing from the University of Louisville. Anna currently plays with the Paducah Symphony, folk rock band- Field of Kings, and fuzz/folk rock band- Jack Holiday and the Westerners. From 9-5 she is the Development Information Manager at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. She is also a Production Assistant for the Beatles festival, Abbey Road on the River.
