Louisvillians will have a chance to dance on the dark side during the Festival of Fantasy on October 29, 2011 from noon to 1 a.m. Louisville Halloween partiers will be able to attend the event and have time for other parties around town since the Festival of Fantasy lasts for 13 hours.  The festival's theme includes dark faeries, vampires, werewolves, and zombies. The event is for ages 18 and older, although younger guests are allowed when accompanied by an adult.

The Festival of Fantasy: Dance on the Darkside will feature vendors, artists, costume contests, and entertainment throughout the event. Jane Rose and the Dead End Boys (music) are slated to perform during the day along with Shawna the Dead (geek show), and the night's entertainment will be provided by Divinity Rose, gothic belly dancers, the Va Va Vixens, and a DJ.

Jane Rose and the Dead End Boys:

When people want to rest, they can take a break from the dancing to visit a small alcove where horror movies are being projected (without sound) or visit the vendors. Vendors include:
Seline (a psychic reader), Blackwyrm Publishing, artist Cody Mathis, artist Brett Gray, Dark Corner Collectibles, Matrix: A Place of Change and others.

The ticket sales benefit Pagan Community Ministries, which is a Louisville based non-profit organization that focuses on community outreach. The organization organizes and hosts a variety of events throughout the year to encourage pagans to get together to find fellowship in addition to offering community resources like a free Thanksgiving dinner and a food / clothing pantry for people in need. Tickets are $15 in advance and $17 on the day of the show. They can be purchased online or at Ear-X-Tacy, The Great Escape Comic Books and Records (cash only), or Matrix: A place of Change.

Minister Lady G is willing to give away and perform two themed weddings or hand fastings at the event: One will be a Fae wedding, and one will be a either vampire,  goth, zombie, or were wedding. The choice is up to the couples chosen from submitted applications. Included in the wedding will be:

  •     Make-up and hair style (with glitter for the Fae)
  •     A certificate for a night at a local hotel
  •     Pictures with a small memento album
  •     Flowers for both brides ( black/red )
  •     Cake for each couple
  •     Both couples will open the dance
  •     Tickets for four (4) guests
  •     And a few more surprises

Anyone interested in having one of the weddings may contact Lady G at 502-584-8300.

A silent auction will also be taking place during the festival with an array of impressive items including a bundle of autographed items from many dark notables like the Booth Brothers, Elvira, Devil's Reject's members, and the main cast of the original Ghostbusters. Other items have been graciously donated by companies, authors, and artists like Quirk Books, Road Runner Records, Midnight Syndicate, Dracre Stoker (the great grandson of Braham Stoker), The Great Escape and others. Items up for auction can be viewed on the Festival's public Facebook page or their web site.  Proceeds from the silent auction will benefit Wolf Run Wild Life Refuge, a liscensed and accredited sanctuary for animals with a "no kill" policy.  Wolf Run is currently home to a variety of domestic, farm, and wild animals like lions, wolves, linx, and foxes. Many of the animals have been rescued and received medical attention.
