    Where To Go

Celebrate Jimmy Russell With Bourbons Bistro
    Print this page

Master Distillers are many things to many people.  For some companies, they are the face of the company, responsible for building brand loyalty.  For other companies, they oversee the entire process of distilling from beginning to end, ensuring that the product maintains consistency throughout the years.  Some Master Distillers do it all, and no one in the business has been doing it all quite as long as Wild Turkey’s Jimmy Russell.

For 60 years, Jimmy Russell has been the heart and soul of Wild Turkey.  Fred Noe credits his and other Kentucky Master Distillers’ pavement pounding decades ago with the current boom in bourbon, often referring to Russell as the last of the elder statesmen of the bourbon industry.

August 13, 2014 at 6:30 p.m., Bourbons Bistro will honor sixty years of Jimmy Russell’s legacy in the bourbon business with a four-course Wild Turkey inspired dinner.  Jimmy Russell himself will be in attendance and attendees will have the opportunity to get their Diamond Edition Wild Turkey bottles signed by the man whose legacy they were made to celebrate.  Bottles must be purchased in advance, and Bourbons Bistro recommends buying them at Liquor Barn on Shelbyville Road in St. Matthews.  Even if you don’t attend the event, I highly recommend buying this bottle if you can find it anywhere.  I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about it.

Tickets to this event are extremely limited, so call (502) 894-8838 for reservations.  The event costs $65 per person.  Don’t miss this opportunity to meet the man who has contributed so much to Kentucky’s bourbon heritage.
