When it comes to Christmas, there is no shortage of movies that will immediately conjure up a favorite memory and kick us into nostalgia mode.

This season, Cinemark Theatres at Tinseltown will be offering up Christmas spirit in the form of four classics of Christmas Cinema:

                        Miracle on 34th St (1947), November 28th

Starring Maureen O’Hara, John Payne, Edmund Gwenn, and a young Natalie Wood, this movie tells the tale of Macy’s Santa Claus who insists he is real deal and the ensuing court case to decide his authenticity. Growing up, my family would watch this on Thanksgiving night to kick off the Christmas season.

                        A Christmas Story (1983), December 5th

Who doesn’t know the story of little Ralphie Parker, who only wants a Red Ryder bb gun for Christmas? Based on the humorous writings of author Jean Shepherd, this movie captures the feeling of childhood hope and longing when there’s one Christmas gift you just HAVE to have and no one else seems to be able to understand.

                        Home Alone (1990), December 12th

Macaulay Culkin became a star playing a little boy who is left behind by his family on Christmas vacation and is forced to defend his family home from two con men that plan to rob the place.

                        It’s a Wonderful Life (1946), December 19th

James Stewart is George Bailey in the Frank Capra story of a man who wishes he had never been born. His guardian angel, Clarence, who is trying to earn his wings, shows him how he has impacted the lives of all those around him and how much his life has mattered.

Shown each Wednesday at both 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., adult tickets are $9.00 and children are $6.75. However, you can purchase tickets for all movies in the series for just $20.

Why not celebrate the season by introducing the family to some of the classic Christmas films of yesterday?
