My co-worker said it best, "There are circus's everywhere!" And yes, I concur. After two weeks of circus coverage, spending this past weekend at Turners of Louisville's annual circus of local talent (which by the way has completely inspired me to pass on Palates and pick up the trapeze), and opening night of Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey's looming on Thursday's horizon, I do believe my mind has truly run away with it.
But if you haven't had your taste of the infamous Greatest Show on Earth, never fear, tomorrow the circus is cruising through town, literally. Beginning around 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, animals from Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey will saunter through town in a procession of kicking off their arrival in Louisville for the 141st edition of The Greatest Show on Earth.
According to a press release, "The animals will be unloaded from the train at south 11th near Broadway and make their way on Broadway to 9th Street. They will travel on 9th to Market Street and stay on Market to 3rd Street…until they arrive at the loading dock entrance of KFC Yum! Center." It is recommended to view the procession along the Walk Route near the arena.
The animals will disembark from their 53-car-long steel coach that contains animals and artists from around the globe. If you can't get the kids to the parade, tickets are still available for the six performances (March 31- April 3) at the KFC Yum! Center Box Office, Ticketmaster, or www.Ringling.com.
