Will the glass slipper fit?  Find out in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, which opens tonight at Shelby County Community Theatre.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella will take place on July 22, 23, 29, and 30 at 7:30 p.m.  Matinee shows, meanwhile, will go on July 24 and 31 at 2:30 p.m. each day.  All shows will happen at the Shelby County Community Theatre, located at 801 West Main Street in Shelbyville, KY.

Ticket prices are $!4 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $10 for students.  Due to limited seating reservations are strongly recommended, and they can be made by calling 502-633-0242.  More information on the show can be found at the Shelby County Community Theatre website.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella is a retelling of a classic rags-to-riches fairy tale featuring a beautiful girl who desires to attend the ball at the palace.  With the aide of a Fairy Godmother, she has that opportunity.  However, her evil stepmother and stepsisters will try to stop any attempt she makes from getting out of her servant's role they forced her to take.

Although it is family-friendly, don't expect a true-to-Disney version.  Rodgers and Hammerstein created Cinderella initially for a 1957 TV special, which starred Julie Andrews.

Following Cinderella, Shelby County Community Theatre will present two one act plays called I'm Herber and Strawberry Jam.  The plays will go on beginning August 19.
