Sordid Lives

There is no such thing as a "normal" family as a family in Winters, Texas, proves in Sordid Lives, which Hardin County Playhouse will open today.

Sordid Lives will take place on Feb. 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16 at 7 p.m. each night.  Two matinees will occur on Feb. 10 and 17 at 3 p.m. each day.  All performances are to happen at the Plum Alley Theater, located inside the Historic State Theater site at 209 West Dixie Ave. in Elizabethtown.

Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $13 for students, seniors 55 and over, and military members.  All tickets can be purchased at the door, at the Hardin County Playhouse website, or reserved by calling 270-351-0577.  More information on the show can also be found at the Hardin County Playhouse site.  Keep in mind, the show is for mature audiences due to strong language and adult situations.

Sordid Lives deals with a family who must prepare for a respected family member's funeral in Winters, Texas.  This family bled to death after tripping on her lover's wooden legs and slamming her head into a sink.  The funeral could be humiliating for the family members as disorder runs through Winters and hijinks take place inside the family.

Del Shores created Sordid Lives, which Bo Cecil directed.

Following Sordid Lives, Hardin County Playhouse will present Twelve Angry Jurors.  Auditions for the show will occur on Feb. 11 and 12.
