Course #4: River Road Run (with detours) [Fitness and Health]

First of all, I'd like to apologize in advance for my poor execution of this course. I think I was a little heat delirious today because I broke Rule # 1 of summer running: No afternoon runs. Period. So if the map seems a little jumbled and disoriented, it clearly reflects my state of mind during training today. Regardless, the River Road Run is a four mile course that can be manipulated into any distance depending on how far down you would like to venture.  

Starting at the Water Tower and traveling left, you will encounter a number of drop off points including Cox's Park and Louisville Soccer Park. These areas offer a chance for extra mileage and a change of scenery from the straight and narrow of River Road. To follow my course, simply run straight down the road until you reach the soccer park. Turn into this park and take a loop around the left field before heading back in the direction you came. Add a couple miles in Cox's Park and finish up with a lap around the Water Tower and you will have completed an easy four miles. 

The terrain of this course is nice and flat, but lacking in shade (as I discovered the hard way today). It makes for a nice run though, and an area I would love to hear more about if anyone were to explore it. As always, happy running.
