What To Do

The Delling Shore
Print this page

Words become more than just on a page in the 37th Humana Festival opener The Delling Shore, which opens on Wednesday.

The Delling Shore will take place at various times from Feb. 27-Apr. 7.  All performances are to happen inside the Bingham Theatre at Actors Theatre of Louisville, located at 316 West Main Street in downtown Louisville.

Ticket prices vary for each show.  All tickets can be purchased at the Actors Theatre box office, the Actors Theatre website, or by calling the website at 502-584-1205.  More information on the show can also be found at the Actors Theatre website. Keep in mind the show is recommended for those 16 and up due to strong language and adult situations.

Words are aimed at rival novel writers in The Delling Shore.  Two novel writers, one who is successful, the other who is still trying to get there, clash when they spend time in an isolated lake house.  Even their daughters, one of whom is also an aspiring author, are thrown into the situation.  Personal and professional jealousies and struggles are exposed and disected as the war of words rages.

Sam Marks created The Delling Shore, which was also developed, in part, through Sundance Institute Theatre Program's assistance.  Actors Theatre associate artistic director Meredith McDonough directed the production.

The Delling Shore is just the first of many plays to debut at the 37th Annual Humana Festival of New American Plays.  More information on the Humana Festival can be found at the Actors Theatre website.
