Dean's Kitten (18-1) is one of a handful of horses coming into the Derby off of a victory, winning the Grade II Lanes End Stakes on March 27.
He has finished in the money in six of 11 career starts, with a first and second in three starts this year.
The horse, owned by Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey and trained by Michael Maker, will have local favorite Robby Albarado aboard and will start from the No. 8 post position.
Dean's Kitten, who has never run at Churchill Downs and is 0-for-1 on wet dirt, has $418,600 career earnings.
