There are tons of geeks in this city. Some of them are beer geeks, getting excited about microwbrews at events like Beerfest. Many others are bike geeks who talk it up at the many local bike shops popping up in the east end. Lots of people geek out over their favorite college sports here in river city every time the Cardinals so much as fart. Even Geek Squad City, a facility in Bullitt County embraces the sexiness and desirability of smart folks who know their way around a motherboard.
Be that as it may, this weekend the classic geeks get their glory!
The 2nd annual Derby City Comic Con is prepared to serve comic, anime and gaming geeks from all over Kentuckiana this weekend at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
This year's convention boasts a silent auction benefiting Kosair charities, 5 panels on different comic-related topics, and a slew of comic book and anime swag for purchase.
Cosplayers are folks who love their comics or fandoms so much they buy or create their own replicas of characters' costumes. This year's convention features a cosplay contest, with a $300 dollar grand prize!
Derby City Comic Con will take place Saturday, June 30, 2012 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Kentucky International Convention Center in downtown Louisville.
