Wednesday, the International League announced its roster for the Triple-A All Star Game. One Louisville Bats player, catcher Dioner Navarro, made the roster.
Navarro has come on nicely since starting the season 0-for-19 at the plate. He is currently hitting .331//410/.439 with three homers and 20 RBIs. He also has six doubles to his credit.
The Venezuela native has had an unreal June, hitting .397over 17 games. He has also been a bright spot on a team that has struggled with runners in scoring position. Navarro is 13-for-31 (.387) with runners in scoring position and has an on-base percentage of .410 in those situations.
The Triple-A All Star Game will be held July 11 in Buffalo. It matches the International League against the Pacific Coast League. For a complete International League roster, click here.
The Louisville Bats open a four game home stand Saturday night against the Indianapolis Indians. Saturday, the Bats will be giving away team posters to the first 2,000 fans through the gates. The Bats also welcome back The Skyy Dogs to Louisville Slugger Field.
LG&E presents a Fourth of July fireworks show on July 3. The Bats will then go to Indy for two games before returning home Friday.
On Saturday July 7, the Bats will be giving away 30th Anniversary Posters commemorating 30 years of baseball in Louisville. The Bats players will also be wearing Redbirds jerseys that night.
