Does your family love Thunder, but hate the crowd? Slugger Field and the Science Center will offer up kid-friendly fireworks viewing that is tucked away from all of the mayhem of Waterfront Park:
Thunder at Slugger Field
If you have a die-hard Thunder family and want to make Saturday an all-day affair, this is the perfect place for you. Buy a ticket (which are still very reasonably priced if you ask me) for a day at Louisville Slugger Field and enjoy a Bats game, then watch an air show, followed by the piece de resistance: Thunder Over Louisville. The best part is that you'll get your own seat all day and some prime parking.
ThunderBlast at the Louisville Science Center
If you want to take a more laid-back approach to Thunder, the Louisville Science Center has got a great evening in store for you. With the purchase of a ticket, (which are insanely cheaper if you're a member...all the more reason to join!) your family will enjoy a picnic style meal and dining tent, indoor and outdoor kids' activities, a plum riverside view of Thunder and access to the museum (and its clean bathrooms) all day long. Hurry on this one...you'll need to make reservations by Thursday if you want to be included.

incredible article on the secret locations
Neither of these are secret and this article is so short with almost no information what so ever. What a waste of time.
Shame on Parks Dept
I agree with the above...I
I agree with the above...I can't believe $4 for a day full of fun is seriously considered expensive these days. We pay that or more for ONE gallon of gas!
Expensive fees? Guess the
Expensive fees? Guess the recession is making it difficult for some of us locals to gather up the whole $4 admission! Hmm, guess I can't hit up that dollar menu afterwards, huh?
In all seriousness, folks, if $4 is the diference between your "friends partaking in a decade long tradition" and sitting at home watching the fireworks on your flat-screen tv, you have my pity.
