Shelby County Community Theatre

The Diviners will take place on Apr. 19, 20, 26, and 27 at 7:30 p.m. each night.  Matinees will occur on Apr. 21 and 28 at 2:30 p.m. each day.  All performances are to happen at Shelby County Community Theatre, located at 801 Main Street in Shelbyville, KY.

Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors more than 62 years old, and $10 for students.  Due to limited seating, reservations are highly recommended and can be made by calling 502-633-0242.

The Diviners focuses on Depression-era Avon, IN and two unlikely friends, Buddy, a sweet-natured mentally challenged boy, and C.C., a drifter dealing with a crisis of faith.  The two understand each other in ways no one else can.  C.C. becomes Buddy's mentor and gets more involved with the town.  However, C.C.'s past threatens to derail the city's development and, more important, his relationship with Buddy.

Jim Leonard Jr. created The Diviners, which Iverson Warinner directed for Shelby County Community Theatre.

Following The Diviners, Shelby County Community Theatre will present An Evening of Culture.  That production will go on in late May-early June.  More information on The Diviners and An Evening of Culture can be found at the Shelby County Community Theatre website.
