Elves are small, so the Blue Apple players can "make room" for many!

Blue Apple Players, a nonprofit theater company, is proud to present “Make Room for Elves,” an original musical that will be performed at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at The Brown Theatre. Tickets are $8.00 per person.

“This performance is sure to get people of all ages in the holiday spirit,” says Blue Apple Players executive director Paul Lenzi. “As with all Blue Apple Players’ musicals the audience will learn an important lesson, in this case the value of friendship.”

This original tale explains that before they were known as elves, Santa’s helpers were called Keebobbins. As the play opens we find a group of lost Keebobbins adrift on a patch of ice in search of a new home. Once Santa and Mrs. Claus learn of their dilemma they invite them to stay with them at the North Pole. Santa is impressed by their eagerness to work and invites them to become his elves and help him prepare for his annual around-the-world trip to deliver toys. A highlight of the show is the courtship of Santa and Clara told through “The Santa Claus Waltz.”

“Make Room for Elves” was written by Blue Apple co-founder and artistic director Geraldine Ann Snyder. Geraldine has written the book, music and lyrics for over 36 Blue Apple Players’ musicals. Her musicals have been published by both Samuel French and The Dramatic Publishing Company and are available for worldwide productions. She was a recipient of the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Presentation Academy Tower Awards for Women Leaders in Arts and Communication and the prestigious Star Award from the Pleiades Theatre Company. In addition, Dramatic Publishing nominated her musical version of “Johnny Appleseed” for the 2004 Award for Distinguished Play, presented each year by the American Alliance for Theatre and Education.
