Discover the simple beauty of mosses and lichens, the diminutive guardians of the forest floor, in this naturalist-guided program from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday the 8th. Cold and dreary winter days are brightened with sights of green mosses peeking out, and blankets of lichen covering tree trunks are tonic worth seeking. Dress for the weather, expect to get a little dirty and join the hunt for these emeralds of winter! Age 13 and up. The program fee is $7 for members, $10 for others, advance registration is required. Meet at the Visitor Center.
