Well happy March to us. As the result of a storm that began pummeling Louisville around 9 p.m. last night, the roads are pretty coated in ice (as if you needed to make your Monday worse) and JCPS schools are closed.

According to WHAS 11, Louisville is still under a winter storm warming until this afternoon, though the article promises that the snow should stop after the evening commute. That's pretty much exactly when most of us will stop caring about the weather, the minute we slog into the house with our snow boots on and plop down on the couch to flip on Netflix and drink a glass of bourbon to "warm ourselves up."

Here's a complete list of school and business closings: Jefferson County Public Schools are closed (I think as I wrote that I heard the groans of a thousand harried parents realizing they'll have to keep their children occupied for yet another day at home) and classes at UofL are closed before 3 p.m as of 8 a.m. this morning.

Here's a map showing power outages in the area. The number to call to report a downed power line or power outage in Louisville: 502-589-3500, and outside Louisville is 800-331-7370. I realize the irony of writing in a web posting the number you should call if you don't have power, but perhaps your iPhone has bars?

Here's a map showing current traffic in the area, if you're brave and dedicated enough to make it to work today. If you do, you probably need a raise, and you can tell your boss I said so.

Just a reminder: the first day of spring is due in 17 days.
