If you love flamenco or just want to get a taste of it (or introduce someone to the music and dance of southern Spain), this Friday you’ll have your chance.
The Academy of Flamenco Arts at the FlamencoTalk Studio, 962 Baxter Avenue in the Highlands, will host Fiesta Flamenca, a flamenco party, at 8:00 p.m. Enjoy tapas, sangria and wine and the beauty and passion of authentic flamenco music and dance. If you’d rather shake it than just see it, enter to win a prize dancing the four coplas of Sevillanas, the national dance of Spain, or take a chance on the raffle for a gift basket.
Admission is $10 at the door (cash only), and all proceeds will go toward preserving and promoting Hispanic culture and tradition through the art form of flamenco. For more information, contact 345-2945 or www.flamencotalk.com.
