Farm to Table fundraiser set for Harvest Restaurant

Louisville charitable organization WaterStep is hosting a “Farm to Table” dinner on Thursday, May 22 at Harvest Restaurant at 624 East Market Street in NuLu. The cocktail reception starts at 5:30pm, right after work, with the dinner bell ringing at 6:45pm.

James Comer, Kentucky’s Agriculture Commissioner will speak during the 3-course dinner. There will also be a live auction where you can bid on an Old 502 Winery gift basket, a Kentucky Proud Louisville Stoneware platter and a Four Roses Gift Basket that has bottles signed by Jim Rutledge, the bourbon brand’s master distiller.

If you research Harvest Restaurant, you’ll find good to excellent reviews on Yelp, Urban Spoon, Open Table and Trip Advisor. They proudly display the Kentucky Proud logo and they also sell themselves as a locally grown restaurant.

Tickets to the dinner are $100 each with proceeds going to WaterStep, a non-profit organization finding solutions to the worldwide water crisis and give people safe water. They do this with training and rudimentary equipment so that safe and sustainable water is available around the globe.

In a press release, Mayor Greg Fischer says “This event is an excellent way to enjoy Kentucky foods and bourbon while helping one of our city’s most unique charities.”

In that same document, Commissioner Comer said “There’s no greater way to thank a Kentucky farmer than to serve up Kentucky Proud food.”

The Farm to Table dinner at Harvest Restaurant is sponsored by Four Roses Bourbon and Old 502 Winery. Get reservations at 502-568-6342.

Later in the year, WaterStep will hold two more fundraisers. One is the second annual CQ Jam for WaterStep at Captain’s Quarters that features live music. The other is their annual I-Thirst Dinner.
