Starting tomorrow, Finnigan Productions will put on the fifth annual Finnigan's Festival of Funky Fresh Fun, debuting 11 new ten-minute plays from local playwrights. The production company is a local affair that shows a number of different plays throughout the year. Through committee, they selected their favorite plays, directors, and actors who regularly work with the company to fill this yearly celebration of Louisville's theater talent.
The short plays will tackle such varied subjects as Aristophanes' love life, the mystery of a dead hamster, and an on-call empathy team. It sounds like a round up of regular Finnigan fare, and this is not a bad thing. They have a history of hosting a wide assortment of new voices that often exhibit challenging and enjoyable material. Any fan of the fringes and frolicking that comes with good theater should attend.
Finnigan's Festival of Funky Fresh Fun will be held at The Bard's Town Theater, located at 1801 Bardstown Rd. Performances will show on April 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, and 14 promptly at 7:30. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling the Finnigan Box office at 502-876-0532.
